For the past 35-plus years, Tom Cooper has pivoted and created City In Focus as a city chaplaincy that nurtures the spiritual needs of the community: in pastoral work, events, writings, and nurturing philanthropy.

His upbringing and relationships have uniquely molded him for this work in Vancouver.

From Texas to New York, from Seattle to Los Angeles to London, England, Tom has picked up skills and insights along the way that have equipped him for City In Focus's ecumenical, connecting ministry. 

And… it also explains why he has such a wide swath of friends.

Tom has served as the President of City in Focus for over thirty years. He has spearheaded this chaplaincy by caring for the soul of the city through dynamic connections with the business, political, and faith communities of Vancouver. Tom is a Minister of Religion ordained in the Presbyterian Church of Canada.
