Dinner - Thursday, May 7 at 6pm - 8pm
Breakfast - Friday, May 8 at 7:30am - 9am
Hyatt Regency Vancouver
655 Burrard Street
Vancouver
The BC Leadership Prayer Breakfast has been a significant annual event in the life of our city and province for 59 years, with approximately 1,000 leaders attending each year. This year, we turn our attention to an issue that has profoundly affected communities across British Columbia: mental health. One in four Canadians will experience a mental health challenge in any given year—a statistic that impacts families, workplaces, schools, and communities throughout our province. Recent tragic examples include the Lapu-Lapu incident, where a car plowed through a street festival, and the Tumbler Ridge school shooting.
This year, we are honored to welcome two highly acclaimed musicians and speakers, Robb Nash and Matt Maher, who have made a significant impact on lives around the world. They openly share their personal struggles to find purpose and meaning, inspiring youth and others who are facing challenges, including mental health struggles.

Robb Nash is a Canadian musician and mental health advocate. After a life-threatening brain injury from a car crash that required his skull to be rebuilt with titanium, he awoke facing a long recovery and a loss of identity. Music became his way forward. Following two Top Ten hits, he stepped away from the traditional music industry to focus on impact. For more than a decade, Robb has spoken with more than 800,000 students, as well as in prisons and to professional audiences across Canada. He has received more than 900 suicide notes from young people who credit his work with helping them stay alive. He received the Governor General’s Meritorious Service Medal in 2019.

Matt Maher is one of the most trusted and authentic voices in Christian music. His catalog includes modern hymns such as “Lord, I Need You,” “All the People Said Amen,” and “Because He Lives (Amen),” songs that have shaped worship over the years. A multi-GRAMMY® nominee and three-time GMA Dove Award® winner, he stands among the most influential songwriters in contemporary worship today. An official Steinway Artist with over 600,000 albums sold.
Through his global ministry of music and song-writing, Matt Maher has encountered communities where mental health struggles are hidden in stigma, and others where they are acknowledged as part of the shared human experience. As an ambassador for a global mental health ministry, he carries a vision of faith communities equipped to respond not with silence or fear, but with compassion and understanding.
