A Practical Response:

Language, Understanding, and Accompaniment in Mental Health

Following the prayer breakfast, you are warmly invited to a focused and practical breakout session with Robb Nash and Matt Maher. This is an invitation to move from intention to practice, to become people who not only care, but know how to show up, and how to sustain the work that is already bringing hope to others.

Together, we will explore:

  • Language that heals: how the words we choose can reduce stigma, reflect truth, and open space for honest conversation

  • Accompaniment in practice: simple, concrete ways to walk alongside others with attentiveness, humility, and presence

Through guided conversation and Q&A, we will engage questions such as:

  • How do we begin safe, meaningful conversations about mental health?

  • What does practical support look like in real relationships, among friends, family, and peers?

  • How can we support movements in the mental health space?

  • How can we respond faithfully when someone shares their struggle?

We will also highlight real examples of accompaniment: stories of individuals and groups who are walking with others through mental health challenges, offering insight into what truly helps.

Participants will leave with:

  • Clear, practical next steps for supporting others and tending to their own mental health

  • Language and frameworks that can be used immediately in everyday conversations

  • A deeper confidence in offering presence, especially when there are no easy answers

  • Ways to support and strengthen existing efforts, including how to engage with, partner alongside, and champion organizations and initiatives already doing meaningful work in mental health care and accompaniment

Let’s move from awareness to action through deeper conversation following the breakfast!
